VSNL1 유전자는 신경 칼슘 센서 단백질의 visinin/recoverin 서브패밀리에 속합니다. 이 단백질은 소뇌의 과립세포에서 강하게 발현되며, 칼슘 의존적으로 세포막과 결합하여 아데닐산 사이클라아제의 활성 조절을 통해 중추신경계의 세포 내 신호 전달 경로를 조절합니다. 대체 스플라이싱 변이가 보고되었으나, 완전 길이는 아직 규명되지 않았습니다.
