Product Specific Information

The 1B1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD1d, a 48 kDa glycoprotein structurally homologous to MHC class I molecules. Although CD1d associates with β2-microglobulin like MHC I, functionally it resembles MHC class II. 1B1 detects β2m-associated CD1d at varying levels on mouse leukocytes.

• Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes; optimal at ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
• Excitation/Emission: 488 nm / 710 nm (Blue laser)

• Fixation: Samples can be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using:

    Clone-specific performance should be verified empirically.

Target Information

CD1d is a heavy chain glycoprotein associated with β2-microglobulin, expressed on cortical thymocytes and some epithelial cells. It is the sole group 2 member of the CD1 family, which presents lipid and glycolipid antigens to T cells.
The CD1D gene encodes a transmembrane glycoprotein structurally related to MHC proteins, forming heterodimers with β2-microglobulin. CD1 proteins differ in localization and lipid ligand specificity. The human CD1D gene is located on chromosome 1 and its product localizes to late endosomes and lysosomes through a cytoplasmic tyrosine-based motif.
Diseases associated with CD1D include Mycobacterium malmoense infection and autoimmune diseases.
