Target Information
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) Q is implicated in mRNA processing mechanisms. It is a component of the CRD-mediated complex that promotes MYC mRNA stability. Isoforms 1, 2, and 3 associate with pre-mRNA, splicing intermediates, and mature mRNA complexes. Isoform 1 binds to apoB mRNA AU-rich sequences and participates in the APOB mRNA editosome complex, potentially modulating post-transcriptional C-to-U RNA editing via interactions with A1CF or APOBEC1. It may also be involved in translationally coupled mRNA turnover and in cytoplasmic mRNA decay mechanisms. Isoform 3 may contribute to vesicle-based mRNA transport. Additionally, hnRNP Q is a component of the GAIT complex, which mediates interferon-gamma-induced transcript-selective translation inhibition during inflammation.
