Target Information
Catalyzes intramembrane proteolysis of signal peptides after cleavage from a preprotein, releasing fragments from the ER membrane into the cytoplasm.
Required for generating lymphocyte cell surface (HLA-E) epitopes derived from MHC class I signal peptides.
May play a role in graft rejection and in removal of signal peptides from the hepatitis C virus core protein.
Involved in intramembrane cleavage of PSEN1 and XBP1 isoform 1 in a DERL1/RNF139-dependent manner.
