The Human ULBP-4 Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures ULBP-4 protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, allowing you to create your own multiplex panel utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation.
When combining multiple Simplex kits (i.e., when not using a pre-configured Multiplex Panel), only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantitate all targets simultaneously with a Luminex instrument.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single 25–50 μL sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other bodily fluids.

Each bead in the assay is internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create spectrally unique signatures identifiable by Luminex xMAP detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).
Similar to a sandwich ELISA, matched antibody pairs identify the target protein. Each bead type is labeled with antibodies specific for a single target protein, and bound proteins are detected using biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

The main difference from a traditional ELISA is that the capture antibody in ProcartaPlex assays is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing reagents to remain free-floating in solution.
Detection is achieved using dual-laser instruments such as the Luminex 200—one laser identifies bead signatures, while the other quantifies RPE fluorescence proportional to protein concentration.

ProcartaPlex multiplex assays enable profiling of more target proteins using significantly less sample volume and similar processing time compared to conventional ELISA.
Multiplex panels are available across six species: human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine.
