• AA Sequence of recombinant protein: GNFLTGLGHR SDHYNCVSSG GQCLYSACPI FTKIQGTCYR GKAKCCK
• Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human BD-1. Anti-Human BD-1-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
• Sandwich ELISA:
  To detect hBD-1 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required.
  This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, used with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human BD-1 (500-P253) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hBD-1.
• Western Blot:
  To detect hBD-1 by Western Blot analysis, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible secondary reagents, detection limit for Recombinant hBD-1 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.
• Packaging: 500-P253BT-1MG is provided as 2 × 500 µg.

Target Information

Defensins are microbicidal and cytotoxic peptides produced by neutrophils. Members of the defensin family are highly similar in protein sequence. The gene encoding beta-defensin 1 is an antimicrobial peptide involved in epithelial resistance to microbial colonization. It maps near defensin alpha 1 and is implicated in cystic fibrosis pathogenesis.
