Product Specific Information
Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Specificity: TPC2.
Target Information
Tpcn2 (Two-Pore Channel 2) is a nicotinic acid adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NAADP) receptor that may function as one of the major voltage-gated Ca²⁺ channels across the lysosomal membrane. It may also be involved in smooth muscle contraction.
The Tpcn2 gene encodes a putative cation-selective ion channel with two repeats of a six-transmembrane-domain structure. The Tpcn2 protein localizes to lysosomal membranes and mediates NAADP-induced calcium ion release from lysosome-related stores.
Tpcn2 is ubiquitously expressed, with higher levels in liver and kidney. Two nonsynonymous SNPs in the Tpcn2 gene are associated with hair pigmentation (blond vs. brown).
Diseases associated with TPCN2 include Deafness, Autosomal Recessive 63 and Deafness, Autosomal Recessive 7.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
