Target Information
This gene encodes a nuclear protein involved in cell-cycle regulation. The encoded protein acts as a ubiquitin-ligase capable of ubiquitinating PCNP (PEST-containing nuclear protein), and together they may play a role in tumorigenesis.
The protein contains the following domains:
- NIRF_N domain
- PHD finger
- Set- and ring-associated (SRA) domain
- RING finger domain
Several of these domains are essential for regulating cell proliferation. This protein may also contribute to intranuclear degradation of polyglutamine aggregates.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, some of which are non-protein coding.
