Product Specific Information

Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

Histone H3 is one of the DNA-binding proteins found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells.
H3, along with four core histone proteins, binds to DNA forming the structure of the nucleosome.
Histones play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication, and chromosomal stability.
Post-translationally, histones are modified in various ways to change chromatin structure or allow binding of specific transcription factors.
The N-terminal tail of histone H3 protrudes from the nucleosome core and can undergo modifications such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation affecting cellular processes.
