Target Information
TAGLN (Transgelin, also known as SM22-alpha) is an actin cross-linking/gelling protein expressed in fibroblasts and smooth muscle. Its expression is down-regulated in many cell lines and may serve as an early and sensitive marker for cellular transformation. The precise functional role of this protein remains unclear.
