Invitrogen™ Pertussis Toxin
Pertussis toxin, also known as islet-activating protein, consists of:
- A protomer subunit (S1) with NAD⁺ glycohydrolase and ADP-ribosyltransferase activities
- B oligomer subunits (S2, S3, S4, S5) responsible for attachment to eukaryotic cell surfaces
This toxin uncouples G proteins from receptors by ADP-ribosylating a cysteine residue near the carboxyl terminus of the α subunit.
