Target Information
The HIP protein is an adaptor that mediates the association of heat shock proteins HSP70 and HSP90. It participates in the assembly of the glucocorticoid receptor, requiring multiple molecular chaperones. Expression of this gene is reported to be downregulated in colorectal carcinoma tissue, suggesting it may act as a candidate tumor suppressor gene.
