TRIM24 단백질은 여러 핵 수용체(에스트로겐, 레티노산, 비타민 D3 수용체 등)의 AF2 영역과 상호작용하여 전사 조절을 매개합니다. 이 단백질은 핵 내 소체에 위치하며, 크로마틴 및 이형크로마틴 관련 인자와 결합하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. TRIM 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, RING, B-box type 1, B-box type 2, coiled-coil 영역으로 구성된 tripartite motif를 포함합니다. 두 가지 상이한 isoform을 암호화하는 전사 변이체가 보고되었습니다.
