Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the dual specificity protein phosphatase family. It functions as a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor and interacts with CDK2 kinase, dephosphorylating and preventing its activation. This gene has been reported to be deleted, mutated, or overexpressed in various cancers. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
