Target Information
PKN3 is a protein kinase C-related molecule that mediates malignant cell growth downstream of activated PI3K. It is required for invasive prostate cell growth as shown by 3D cell culture assays and orthotopic mouse tumor models using inducible shRNA expression.
PKN3 is regulated by PI3K at both expression and catalytic activity levels, suggesting it may be a therapeutic target in cancers lacking PTEN or dependent on chronic PI3K activation.
