Target Information
Type I Interferons (IFN-alpha/beta) are produced primarily in response to viral infection by natural IFN-producing cells (IPCs) as part of the host immune response. These interferons can also inhibit tumor development. IFN-beta binding activates tyrosine kinases Jak1 and Tyk2, leading to phosphorylation of STAT transcription factors and expression of immune response genes. Members of the toll-like receptor (TLR) family are known to stimulate IFN-beta production. Clinically, IFN-beta is used for the treatment of tumors, infections, and multiple sclerosis.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
