마우스 연구 결과, DCX 유전자와 함께 해마 조직 형성에 중요한 역할을 하며, 이들의 결핍은 뇌이랑증(lissencephaly)과 유사한 중증 간질성 표현형 및 치명적 결과를 초래할 수 있음이 보고되었습니다.
