Target Information
FAM62B tethers the endoplasmic reticulum to the cell membrane and promotes formation of appositions between these structures. It binds glycerophospholipids in a barrel-like domain and may play a role in lipid transport. Additionally, it is involved in FGF signaling by promoting rapid internalization of FGFR1 activated by FGF1, likely via the AP-2 complex. It also promotes localization of SACM1L at endoplasmic reticulum–plasma membrane contact sites (EPCS).
