Target Information
Heat shock proteins (HSP) are expressed in response to biological stress, including heat. HSP90 is a 90 kDa protein induced under stress conditions and is also abundant under non-stress conditions. It associates with various intracellular proteins such as steroid receptors, actin, tubulin, and kinases. HSP90 is essential for maintaining structural integrity of certain steroid receptors, enabling ligand binding during receptor activation.
