Product Specific Information
- Specifically recognizes GAC but not the KGA isoform.
- Predicted reactivity: Bovine (100%).
- Recommended positive control: MDA-MB-231 cells.
- Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial.
Target Information
Phosphate-activated glutaminase (EC 3.5.1.2) is the major enzyme yielding glutamate from glutamine. It has significance in behavioral disturbances where glutamate acts as a neurotransmitter. Studies have shown high heritability of platelet glutaminase activity, with correlation coefficients of 0.96 for monozygotic twins and 0.53 for dizygotic twins.
