OTUB1은 OTU 슈퍼패밀리에 속하는 예측된 시스테인 프로테아제입니다. 이 단백질은 고도로 특이적인 유비퀴틴 이소펩티다아제로, 가지형 폴리유비퀴틴 사슬에서 유비퀴틴을 절단하지만 유비퀴틴화된 기질에서는 절단하지 않습니다. 다른 유비퀴틴 프로테아제 및 E3 유비퀴틴 리가아제와 상호작용하여 면역계에서 사이토카인 유전자 전사를 억제합니다. 이는 폴리유비퀴틴 사슬 성장의 편집 기능을 제공함으로써 특정 유비퀴틴 의존 경로에서 작용할 것으로 추정됩니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 여러 전사 변이체가 생성됩니다.
