Target Information
This gene is a member of the MAGEA gene family. Members encode proteins with 50–80% sequence identity to each other. Promoters and first exons show variability, allowing similar functions under different transcriptional controls.
MAGEA genes are clustered at chromosomal location Xq28 and have been implicated in hereditary disorders such as dyskeratosis congenita.
Multiple alternatively spliced variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
