RDH10은 all-trans retinol로부터 all-trans retinal을 생성하며, 시각 주기에서 중요한 역할을 수행할 수 있습니다.
All-trans retinal은 망막 색소 상피(RPE)가 빛에 노출될 때 retinal G 단백질 결합 수용체(RGR; MIM 600342)에 의해 11-cis retinal로 이성질화됩니다.
