The antibody detects endogenous levels of total UBP1 protein.
Target Information
UBP1 functions as a transcriptional activator in a promoter context-dependent manner. It modulates placental expression of CYP11A1 and regulates the alpha-globin gene in erythroid cells. Activation of the alpha-globin promoter occurs via synergistic interaction with TFCP2. UBP1 binds strongly to sequences around the HIV-1 initiation site and weakly over the TATA-box, repressing HIV-1 transcription by inhibiting TFIID binding to the TATA-box.
