Target Information
Mitogen‑activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling cascades include MAPK (ERK), MAPK kinase (MKK/MEK), and MAPK kinase kinase (MAPKKK/MEKK).
MEKK1 phosphorylates and activates MAPKK 1 and MAPKK 2 (MEK1/MEK2), leading to phosphorylation of MAP kinases and activation of the JNK cascade.
The protein contains a putative RING‑type zinc finger and a SWIM‑type zinc finger.
These kinases are highly conserved across species including yeast, Drosophila, and mammals.
