Target Information
ITGA3 (Integrin alpha 3), also known as CD49C, VLA3, or GAPB3, is a cell surface adhesion molecule encoded by the ITGA3 gene on chromosome 17q21.33.
It forms the alpha3beta1 integrin complex, which plays a role in neural migration and corticogenesis in conjunction with the beta-1 subunit.
ITGA3 signaling is linked to DAB1 phosphorylation, facilitating neuronal detachment from radial glial fibers.
Expression of human ITGA3 enhances viral infectivity in Chinese hamster ovary cells.
The protein includes 13 potential N-glycosylation sites, 2 cleavage sites, and 7 N-terminal repeating units characteristic of integrins.
Recombinant ITGA3 is expressed as a 150 kDa protein, similar in size to the native protein as shown in western blot analysis.
