Target Information
WW domain-containing proteins are found in all eukaryotes and play an important role in regulating cellular functions such as protein degradation, transcription, and RNA splicing.
This gene encodes a protein containing four tandem WW domains and a HECT domain. The protein belongs to a family of NEDD4-like E3 ubiquitin-ligases that regulate key trafficking decisions, including targeting proteins to proteosomes or lysosomes.
Alternative splicing generates at least six transcript variants, though their full-length nature is not fully defined.
