Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. They range in molecular weight between approximately 40 kDa and 68 kDa and have isoelectric points between 4.9 and 7.8. Each cytokeratin subtype is associated with specific epithelial types and differentiation stages. Cytokeratin expression patterns are widely used to distinguish various epithelial malignancies. Cytokeratin antibodies are valuable tools for differential tumor diagnosis in immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometric assays.
