Target Information
CDY2B는 chromodomain과 histone acetyltransferase 촉매 도메인을 포함하는 단백질을 암호화합니다. Chromodomain 단백질은 이형염색질 복합체의 구성 요소로서 유전자 억제자로 작용할 수 있습니다. 이 단백질은 후기 정자세포의 핵에 위치하며, 여기서 histone hyperacetylation이 일어납니다. 이는 protamine이 histone을 대체하는 DNA 포장 단백질 전환 과정에 기여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
이 유전자는 Y 염색체 상의 palindrome 영역에 거의 동일한 두 복제본으로 존재하며, 본 항목은 centromeric 복제본을 나타냅니다. 또한 Y 염색체에는 telomeric palindrome 영역에 밀접하게 관련된 유전자 쌍과 여러 관련 pseudogene이 포함되어 있습니다.
