RPL10A encodes a ribosomal protein that is part of the 60S subunit and belongs to the L1P family. It is localized in the cytoplasm.
Expression of this gene is downregulated in the thymus by cyclosporin-A (CsA), and in neural precursor cells during development in mice.
Previously known as NEDD6 (neural precursor cell expressed, developmentally downregulated 6), it has been renamed RPL10A (ribosomal protein 10a).
Multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene are dispersed throughout the genome.
