Target Information
cAMP is a signaling molecule crucial for various cellular functions. It activates cAMP-dependent protein kinase (AMPK), which phosphorylates target proteins. The inactive holoenzyme of AMPK consists of two regulatory and two catalytic subunits. Upon cAMP binding, the holoenzyme dissociates into regulatory dimers and catalytic monomers. PRKACB, a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family, serves as a catalytic subunit of AMPK.
