Target Information
SLIT and NTRK-like family 5 (Slitrk5) belongs to a protein family (Slitrk1–6) with two conserved leucine-rich repeat domains in the extracellular region and homology to Slit, a secreted axonal growth-controlling protein. These proteins also share similarity with trk neurotrophin receptors in their intracellular domains.
Expression of Slitrk proteins is largely restricted to neural and brain tumor tissues. Overexpression of Slitrk5 inhibits neurite outgrowth in cultured neurons, indicating its role in neurite outgrowth regulation.
