This antibody has been tested in direct ELISA.
Target Information
E. coli LexA protein inhibits transcription of SOS regulon genes related to DNA repair and cell division by recognizing and binding to the SOS-box sequence. LexA’s self-protease activity is promoted by RecA protein, which is activated by binding to single-strand DNA upon DNA damage. LexA is then cleaved into two fragments, losing its repressor function. Consequently, SOS regulon gene expression increases, enhancing mutagenic activity in cells.
