Target Information
The protein encoded by the ELK3 gene belongs to the ETS-domain transcription factor family and the ternary complex factor (TCF) subfamily. These proteins regulate transcription when recruited by serum response factor to bind serum response elements. ELK3 is activated by signal-induced phosphorylation; in rodents, it acts as a transcriptional inhibitor in the absence of Ras but activates transcription when Ras is present.
