Target Information
RBM15 may function as an mRNA export factor, stimulating export and expression of RTE-containing mRNAs found in retrotransposons that require export prior to splicing. It binds pre-mRNA with high affinity, potentially targeting mRNP to the export helicase DBP5 independently of splicing-mediated NXF1 deposition, enabling export before splicing. RBM15 may also be involved in HOX gene regulation.
