Target Information
Vinculin (VCL)은 세포 간 및 세포-세포외기질 접착부(adherens junction)에 관련된 세포골격 단백질입니다. 이 단백질은 F-actin을 세포막에 고정시키는 여러 상호작용 단백질 중 하나로 작용합니다. 인테그린의 β 서브유닛은 탈린(talin)에 결합하고, 탈린은 비큘린(vinculin)에 결합하며, 비큘린은 알파-액티닌(alpha-actinin)과 상호작용합니다. 알파-액티닌이 액틴 필라멘트를 교차 결합하기 때문에, 비큘린은 세포외기질과 세포질 미세섬유계 사이의 연결에서 핵심적인 역할을 합니다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 확장성 심근병증(dilated cardiomyopathy 1W) 또는 가족성 비후성 심근병증(familial hypertrophic 15)을 유발할 수 있습니다.
