Target Information
This gene belongs to the visinin/recoverin subfamily of neuronal calcium sensor proteins. The encoded protein is highly expressed in cerebellar granule cells, where it associates with membranes in a calcium-dependent manner and modulates intracellular signaling pathways in the central nervous system by regulating adenylyl cyclase activity directly or indirectly. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed, though their full-length nature remains undetermined.
