Antibody detects endogenous levels of total RPL23.
Target Information
This gene encodes a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein belonging to a highly conserved subfamily of WD-repeat proteins. It participates in protein complexes involved in histone acetylation and chromatin assembly, including the Mi-2 complex associated with chromatin remodeling and transcriptional repression. It is also part of co-repressor complexes integral to transcriptional silencing and interacts with retinoblastoma protein to regulate cell proliferation. The protein is implicated in repression of E2F-responsive genes. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
