FGFR 패밀리는 암, 류마티스 관절염, 당뇨망막병증 등 여러 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
FGFR2 유전자의 돌연변이는 Crouzon, Pfeiffer, Apert, Jackson-Weiss, Beare-Stevenson, Saethre-Chotzen 등 다양한 유전성 두개골 조기융합 증후군과 연관되어 있습니다.
여러 가지 대체 스플라이싱 전사 변이체가 존재하며, 다양한 동형단백질을 생성합니다.
