Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
MRPL12 (mitochondrial ribosomal protein L12), also known as 5c5-2, L12mt, MRPL7, or RPML12, is a mitochondrial ribosomal protein involved in mitochondrial protein synthesis. It is upregulated in growth-stimulated cells, suggesting a role in translational regulation of mitochondrial mRNAs. Impairment of MRPL12 reduces cell growth rate, decreases mitochondrial ATP production, and abolishes oxidative phosphorylation. The protein (198 amino acids) belongs to the ribosomal protein L12P family and is highly expressed in the colon.
