Target Information
Synaptobrevins, syntaxins, and SNAP25 are core components of the protein complex involved in synaptic vesicle docking and fusion with the presynaptic membrane. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the vesicle-associated membrane protein (VAMP)/synaptobrevin family. Mutations in this gene are linked to autosomal dominant spastic ataxia 1. Multiple alternative splice variants have been described, though some full-length forms remain undefined.
