Target Information
PAI1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor 1)은 serine protease inhibitor 슈퍼패밀리에 속하며, tissue-type 및 urokinase-type plasminogen activator (tPA, uPA)의 주요 억제제입니다.
혈소판이 순환 중 PAI1의 주요 공급원이며, 섬유아세포, 평활근세포, 내피세포, 간세포 및 염증세포 등 다양한 조직과 세포에서 합성·분비됩니다.
PAI1 발현은 성장인자, 사이토카인, 호르몬, 염증 인자, 대사산물, 혈관조절 인자 등 다양한 요인에 의해 전사 수준에서 조절됩니다.
비만, 혈전성 질환, 대사증후군 등에서 PAI1 농도가 증가하며, 혈전 발생과 관련이 있습니다.
PAI1의 결함은 비정상적인 출혈을 특징으로 하는 plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 deficiency를 유발할 수 있습니다.
또한 PAI1은 fibrinolysis 억제를 매개하고, 신경세포 생존을 촉진할 수 있습니다.
대체 스플라이싱된 전사 변이체가 다양한 isoform을 암호화하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
