Target Information
In some non-lymphoid tissues, the unrearranged T cell receptor gamma locus is expressed. The resulting transcript contains a subset of the T cell receptor gamma locus gene segments and is shorter than T cell receptor gamma transcripts expressed in lymphoid tissues. The downstream ORF is in the same frame as T cell receptor gamma and its protein product is similar to T cell receptor gamma locus proteins. The upstream ORF uses a different reading frame and encodes a novel protein.
