Target Information
GRIM-19 (Gene associated with Retinoid-IFN-induced Mortality) is a novel gene identified as being involved in IFN/RA-induced apoptosis regulation. Antisense expression of GRIM-19 reduces IFN/RA-induced cell death by decreasing intracellular GRIM-19 protein levels, whereas overexpression enhances cell death. GRIM-19 primarily localizes to the nucleus and is induced by IFN/RA treatment, functioning as a cell death–regulatory molecule.
