Target Information
CENPT is a component of the CENPA-NAC (nucleosome-associated) complex, which plays a central role in kinetochore protein assembly, mitotic progression, and chromosome segregation.
The CENPA-NAC complex recruits the CENPA-CAD complex and may assist in incorporating newly synthesized CENPA into centromeres.
CENPT forms part of the heterotetrameric CENP-T-W-S-X complex that binds and supercoils DNA, contributing to kinetochore assembly and function.
It is essential for normal chromosome organization and mitotic progression.
