Target Information
RAB21은 Ras 슈퍼패밀리의 소형 GTP 결합 단백질 유전자 아군에 속하며, 세포 내 소포체 타깃팅에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 비극성 Caco-2 세포에서는 일반적인 소포체(ER) 유사 위치에 존재하며, 극성 세포에서는 RAB21이 apical vesicle에 위치합니다.
RAB21은 integrin 서브유닛과 결합하여 RAB5/RAB21 endosome을 통한 수용체의 세포 내 유입 과정에 관여합니다. 또한 GTPase-activating protein인 p120RasGAP은 endocytosed integrin의 세포막 복귀를 조절하며, RAB21과 integrin α-tail 결합 부위 경쟁을 통해 세포 이동성을 조절합니다.
