Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the TNF-receptor superfamily and is abundant in hematologic tissues. It activates the NF-kappaB pathway and selectively binds TNF receptor-associated factor 1 (TRAF1). This receptor can stimulate T-cell proliferation in the presence of CD3 signaling, suggesting a regulatory role in immune response. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been reported.
