Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells and can also be found on myeloid leukemia cells, particularly of monocytic lineage. CD19 serves as a functional regulator of normal and malignant B cell proliferation and is expressed in all B cell precursor leukemias.
It acts as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and can also signal independently, serving as a central regulatory component for multiple signaling pathways. Mutation of the CD19 gene leads to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression results in B cell hyperactivity.
