CYFIP1은 CYFIP1–EIF4E–FMR1 복합체의 구성 요소로, mRNA 캡에 결합하여 번역 억제를 매개합니다. 이 복합체에서 CYFIP1은 EIF4E와 FMR1 사이의 어댑터 역할을 하며, 뇌에서 FMR1의 번역 억제 활성에 관여합니다. 세포막 주름 및 라멜리포디아 형성, 축삭 성장, 상피 형태형성 조절에 관여하며, F-actin에 결합하지만 RNA에는 결합하지 않습니다. 암에서 침습 억제 인자로 작용할 수 있습니다.
