Target Information
This gene is part of a cluster with other members of the DMRT family, sharing a zinc finger-like DNA-binding motif known as the DM domain. The DM domain is a conserved component of the vertebrate sex-determining pathway and a key regulator of male development in various species. This gene shows gonad-specific and sexually dimorphic expression. Mutations or hemizygosity can cause defective testicular development and XY feminization.
